For My Younger Self

Piece of Advise by Chinemeze Ehirim

Here are some pieces of advice I would give to my younger self if I had the opportunity:

 1. Embrace failure: Don't be afraid to take risks and make mistakes. Failure is a part of life and it's through these experiences that you learn and grow the most.

 2. Follow your passion: Pursue what truly excites and interests you, rather than what others expect of you. Your passion will drive you to work harder and achieve greater success.

3. Take care of your health: Prioritise your physical and mental well-being. Exercise regularly, eat nutritious food, and make time for self-care activities. Your health is your most valuable asset.

  4. Build strong relationships: Invest time and effort in building meaningful connections with family, friends, and mentors. These relationships will provide support, guidance, and happiness throughout your life.

5. Be open-minded: Embrace diversity and different perspectives. Seek out new experiences, travel, and learn about different cultures. This will broaden your horizons and make you a more empathetic and understanding person.

6. Manage your finances wisely: Start saving and investing early. Learn about personal finance, budgeting, and investing to secure your financial future. Avoid unnecessary debt and live within your means.

 7. Don't compare yourself to others: Focus on your own journey and progress. Comparing yourself to others only leads to unnecessary stress and self-doubt. Celebrate your own achievements and be proud of your unique path.

 8. Never stop learning: Cultivate a growth mindset and always be curious. Continuously seek knowledge, develop new skills, and challenge yourself intellectually. Lifelong learning is key to personal and professional growth.

9. Trust your instincts: Listen to your gut feelings and trust your intuition. Your instincts are often a valuable guide in decision-making and can lead you towards the right path.

10. Enjoy the present moment: Don't get too caught up in the future or dwell on the past. Live in the present and appreciate the little joys and experiences that life offers. Time goes by quickly, so make the most of every moment.

USE OPENNESS AND CONNECTION
AS A FORERUNNER OF STRENGTH

USE OPENNESS AND CONNECTION AS A FORERUNNER OF STRENGTH - Chinemeze Ehirim

In today's world, the value of connection and openness is sometimes disregarded or even viewed as a weakness. On the other hand, being open to being seen and embracing openness can really be a great strength in both your personal and professional life.

We expose ourselves to the risk of judgement or rejection when we show openness. Disclosing our true selves to others and letting down our guard takes bravery. However, by doing this, we make room for sincere bonds and significant partnerships to develop.

This idea holds equally true in the business sector. Customers are more inclined to relate to and believe in a company that isn't afraid to be open and honest. A corporation can humanise its brand and establish a connection with its audience by being transparent about its genuine nature, sharing its story, and owning up to its shortcomings.

Consider the companies that have left a lasting impression on you.
They probably succeeded in establishing an emotional bond with you by showing you their vulnerabilities. They have made you feel like you are a part of their journey by sharing their struggles, setbacks, and victories.

Beyond just customers, vulnerability and connection have this kind of power. It also holds true for creating a solid team within your company. Team members are inspired to be real at work and a trusting environment is created when leaders are truthful and vulnerable with their staff. Increased cooperation, creativity, and production follow from this.

Hence, don't be scared to reveal your true self, accept your shortcomings, and establish sincere relationships. Being honest allows you to show the true you to others and build long-lasting, meaningful relationships.

Two patients at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y., killed themselves in the span of eight days, according to the New York Daily News.

One 76-year-old man killed himself in the bathroom of his room early Tuesday morning, and on March 21, a 77-year-old man was found with a rope around his neck on the hospital's seventh floor, according to the report.

"We are deeply saddened by these recent events and our hearts go out to the affected families and staff," the hospital said in a statement to Becker's. "In the wake of these two unrelated events, staff and family members are being offered grief counseling services. We will continue to monitor and support the families and our associates through this difficult time."

Suicide was the fourth most common sentinel event in 2016, according to The Joint Commission, with 87 reported to the accrediting organization.

Latest 5 Treatment Options - Brain Tumors
The Research and Treatment of Brain Tumor

1. Immunotherapy. Immunotherapy, also called biological response modifier (BRM) therapy, is designed to boost the body's natural defenses to fight the cancer. It uses materials either made by the body or in a laboratory to improve, target, or restore immune system function. Different methods are being studied for brain tumors, such as the use of dendritic cells or the use of vaccines aimed against a specific molecule on the surface of the tumor cells. Several methods are currently being tested in clinical trials.

2. Oncolytic virus therapy. This therapy uses a virus that infects and destroys tumor cells, sparing healthy brain cells. It is currently being researched as a treatment for brain tumors.

3. Targeted therapy. As outlined in Treatment Options, this type of treatment targets faulty genes or proteins that contribute to a tumor’s growth and development. Research continues on the use of therapies for brain tumors that target the different ways a tumor grows, how a tumor spreads, and how tumor cells die.

4. Blood-brain barrier disruption. This technique temporarily disrupts the brain’s natural protective barrier in order to allow chemotherapy to more easily enter the brain from the bloodstream.
New drugs and combinations of drugs. Researchers are looking at using drugs currently used for other types of cancer as treatment for a brain tumor. In addition, combinations of drugs that target different pathways a tumor uses to grow and spread are being explored. Since tumors can develop resistance to chemotherapy, meaning the treatment stops working, another approach is to use a treatment that targets how tumor cells develop resistance.

5. Gene therapy. This type of therapy seeks to replace or repair abnormal genes that are causing or helping tumor growth
